UBB Self-Regulation System of Commercial Communications. Cooperation with The Brewers of Europe
UBB members did not stop only with accepting of the general principles regulating the advertising and promotional messages to meet the requirements for prevention and treatment of harmful and hazardous beer consumption.

In years 2007/08 and currently the most significant actions, with long term effect and wide presented at European level are the initiatives and projects of the UBB in the field of the self-regulation of commercial communications, as follows:
  A functioning self-regulatory system – publicly signed Code for responsible commercial communications – February 1, 2005;
  Developed administrative capacity – working structures – Council for self-regulation of commercial communications, Copy advice council, Post monitoring body;
  Independent arbitration Jury for public complaints – put in place. Three members of the Jury are independent persons as the aim is the society interest protection, respecting the transparency at procedures and decision-making;
  Copy advice that ensures independent experts guarantee that advertising conforms to the Code for responsible commercial communications;
  Mandatory monitoring and post monitoring in order to ensure compliance with the code of all advertisements on TV, radio, in the press, on billboards of all UBB members. High standards are implemented, corresponding not only to the letter of the Code, but to its spirit as well.
  Responsible driving habits have been encouraged by the distribution of light reflecting vests with the inscription “Walk when you drink”, 2007;
  Memorandums for cooperation with the Consumers Federation in Bulgaria - 2007, Advertising Agencies Association - 2007, the Association of Bulgarian Broadcasters - 2008, the Bulgarian National Consumers Association - 2008;
  Transparency and loyalty to consumers – Sofia PO Box 1138 and contact via UBB website www.pivovari.com – available;
  Creating as moderate consumption culture for beer – the slogan Consume with pleasure and moderation, is on all TV and print ads of the brewers;
  Strategy for children and youth – all breweries with age-check buttons on their Internet commercial sites
  Fulfilment of  UBB commitments to the EU Alcohol and Health Forum;
  Successful realization of the project “Establishing and consolidation of the branch capacity for self-regulation in trade communications”, where UBB is a beneficiary on EU Operative program Administrative capacity (OPAC);
  Main achievements via OPAC project - the public addresses and participation of the highest administrative level public servants and experts of Bulgarian and European institutions, demonstrates a consensus for encouraging self-regulation in a dialogue with the executive and the legislature as a model for overcoming disloyal commercial practices and protecting the most vulnerable social groups.
