Professor PhD Yovcho Kabzev

 
Professor PhD Yovcho KabzevKabzev was born in 1943 in Glavan, Stara Zagora. He graduated from high school in Harmanli. In 1968 he acquired an advanced degree from The University of Food Technologies (UFT) in Plovdiv where he majored in Technology of Fermentation Production. In 1971, Kabzev became an Assistant Professor at UFT at the Department of Technology of Beer and Wine. In 1978 he completed a Doctor dissertation, and in 1985 he became an Associate Professor. In 2004 he became a Professor. During the period 1987 - 1989 he was the Vice Dean and from 1989 to1993 he was the Dean of the School of Technology.  Kabzev teaches lecture courses in Technology of Malt, Technology of Beer, and Technology of Specialty malt and Beer. He is also a co-author of several textbooks. He has completed certification programs in England, Russia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. He does research in the field of beer production, use of hops in brewery, improving the methods for wort production and intensification of the fermentation processes of beer. Last but not least, Kabzev has published a number of research papers in Bulgarian and foreign editorials.
