Statute of Union of Brewers in Bulgaria
(UBB) |

I. GENERAL PROVISIONS |
| |
Article 1. The Union of Brewers in Bulgaria (“the Union”) is an association which purpose is to assist and encourage the development of the Bulgarian brewing industry, to improve the professional status of brewers, to popularize the traditions and culture of beer consumption.
Article 2. The Union is independent of state, political, religious, trade-union, and other agencies and organizations in its activities.
Article 3. The Union is a juridical entity that has its headquarters in Sofia. The Union is entered in the register of non-profit organizations in Sofia City Court, Firm Registration department on October 4, 1991, and is founded for an indefinite period.
Article 4. The Union conducts its activities in compliance with the Bulgarian legislation, the present Statutes, the decisions of the General Assembly and the Union’s managing bodies.
Article 5. The formal hallmarks of the Union are its stamp and emblem, as well as the membership cards of individual members. |

II. PURPOSES OF THE UNION AND MEANS TO FULFILL THEM |

| Article 6. The Union of Brewers in Bulgaria performs its activities for private benefit and aims to: |

| |
Improve the professionalism of brewers; |
| |
Establish professional unity, solidarity, and communication among beer producers; |
| |
Raise the professional status of the brewer; |
| |
Protect the intellectual property of the Union’s members; |
| |
Promote the experience of the members of the Union in the spheres of malting and brewing technology and technical progress; |
| |
Disseminate scientific achievements in the malting and brewing technologies, and assist in their implementation in order to increase the quality of the produced malt and beer, and attain the standard of the most advanced countries. |
| |
Work to update and supplement the relevant Bulgarian legislation; |
| |
Represent the Union (the profession) in Bulgaria and abroad; |
| |
Support and stimulate the brewing science, hops production, and the cultivation of high-quality malting barley; |
